This policy explains what RunLock collects, why we collect it, and how we handle information across the website, Android app, and iOS app.
When you use RunLock, create an account, contact us, or interact with the website, we may process information such as your name, email address, user ID, contact details, device or app information, goals, streaks, unlock status, movement progress, subscription status, and app-blocking preferences so the product can work as intended.
RunLock may use sign-in providers such as Apple, Google, or email-based authentication to create and secure your account. Paid features, free trials, subscriptions, and purchase history may be handled by Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, or similar payment infrastructure. We use this information to confirm access, restore purchases, prevent abuse, and provide support.
RunLock lets you choose distracting apps or app categories to protect. On Android, this can involve Android permissions and platform services that let RunLock identify and limit selected apps. On iOS, app and category selections use Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks, which represent selections with privacy-preserving tokens. RunLock is designed to keep iOS selected app identities on your device and in Apple-provided protected storage where applicable, rather than uploading your selected app list to our servers.
RunLock is designed around real-world movement. Step goals may use Android activity data, Health Connect, Apple Health, or HealthKit where available and authorized. Walking and running distance goals may use location during an active movement session, and iOS may read walking/running distance from Apple Health when you allow it. We use movement, health, and location information to measure progress toward unlock goals, sync progress, and unlock selected apps. We do not use health, fitness, or location data for advertising.
We use information to operate app-locking and movement-goal features, provide account and subscription access, improve reliability, prevent abuse, send product or support updates when appropriate, respond to support requests, and meet legal or platform requirements.
We may use trusted providers such as Supabase, Vercel, analytics, email, Google Play, Apple App Store, RevenueCat, Android platform services, Apple Health, Apple Screen Time, Family Controls, and other Apple platform services to host the website, deliver messages, process purchases, authenticate users, measure movement when authorized, and operate the product.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the product, support, safety, analytics, payment records, or legal purposes. App-related data retention may vary by feature, platform, permission state, and account status.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us. You can also control permissions from your device settings. On Android, this may include location, activity, usage, notification, and Health Connect permissions. On iOS, this may include Apple Health, location, notifications, Screen Time or Family Controls authorization, and Apple account permissions. Removing permissions may limit or disable parts of RunLock.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service is perfectly secure, but we work to keep RunLock's systems disciplined, limited, and aligned with the permissions you choose.
